Spring Growth

When the chartreuse leaves of skunk cabbage starts to emerge from the sodden ground, we know that spring has arrived to our little neck of the woods.  What starts out as small patches of sunshine green here and there will soon grow into large leaves that you could almost hide under, and the musky, sharp sent of skunk cabbage will fill the woods.

  1. The color is pretty, a lovely shade of green. It is a little too early for the skunk cabbage here. Stopping by from Green Day, have a happy weekend!

  5. Oh, I miss Skunk Cabbage! It's one of the things I always think about when we used to play in the woods at Ketchikan.
